Chip, Pitch, and Putt Golf School

Sunday, April 10th. 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Are you struggling to get “Up and Down” around the greens? Frustrated with pitching and Sand shots? Not sure what to do with different lies? Always going to your 7 iron , instead of using a Sandwedge or Lob Wedge for pitch shots to elevated greens? We can help!!! Learn how to chip, when to pitch, what to do out of the sand. There are so many choices with these shots, and it can be confusing and overwhelming for golfers. Feel like you are playing “Army golf”, back and forth, left and right, over the green and back over the other side with your chipping and pitching? Let us show you the keys to short game strategies that will help you have more confidence around the greens and shoot lower scores! Students will receive a gift , and a personal folder with detailed notes on chipping , pitching, and sand shots to take home. Video Swing analysis will be done for you during the school.

This event is almost sold out and we have room for only a few more students.  Sign up and reserve your spot now via email or phone, $25.00 non refundable deposit required. Cost is $100.

Tee to Green Golf School

FOR MEN ONLY…..MEN’S MINI BOOT CAMP: “From Tee to Green”, Sunday, April 17th , 1:30 – 4:30

Men, take this opportunity to learn from Bill Shriver how to shoot lower scores, hit longer and straighter drives, and improve your consistency with your second shots from the fairway.

This is a “Must do” for those of you who are struggling off the tee, and / or inconsistant off the fairway.  Are you constantly slicing your drivers?  Topping your 2nd shots?  Unable to reach the greens in regulation or “1 more than regulation”?

You are not alone!  The Shriver Golf Academy can help you with course management strategies, club selection, and swing techniques that will help you reach the green in less number of strokes.

Bill and Pat’s Products you will Love

We introduced a product to you last year after discovering it at a golf tournament to benefit Melanoma, as a result of the death of our dear friend Dean Hedstrom, who suffered from Melanoma.  Dean was a teaching professional in the Tampa Bay area for many years, and ended his career at Belleair Country Club.  Since that tournament, we have been using a product called Clear Zinc, made by Solar Sense.  We have found the 50 & 70 Clear Zinc for the Face and 50 Clear Zinc Sport for Face & Body to be the best.   After 1 year of use, we see a difference in the amount of sun damage, and all-around healthier skin.

Golf Tip of the Month

Last month we talked about playing three holes at a time, not checking your score card, so as to mentally play your way around the golf course more successfully.  In keeping with that message, let’s talk this month about more mental strategies that will help you play better golf.

  • Be Patient with your putting.  As you start your round, just try to “roll good putts”.  Get the ball close to the hole, so that you can two-putt, if it is outside “a makeable distance”.  Be patient, and “wait for your stoke to come to you”, “wait for the putts to start dropping”.  If you focus on “rolling the ball“ your best, hitting the best putt you can, then “whatever happens, happens”.  You know you gave it your best, you will build confidence because you will be rolling better putts, and then they will start going in, the more relaxed and confident you get.
  • Pay attention to your yardages, off the tee and on approach shots.  You may not always need to pull out your driver, and you may not realize your exact distance to the pin, unless you check it!  You will be more accurate with your approach shots, if you know your yardage!  On shots inside 100 yards, you need to you’re your distance to the green, and flag, so that you can choose the right club and hit your best shot.  If you are just guessing at the distance, it makes it almost impossible to be sure and feel confident to hit your best shot.
  • Most golfers hit TOO MUCH CLUB on approach shots to the green, and this will RUIN your golf swing and golf game.  Hit the club that is right for the distance, not more club than you need.  That causes you to decelerate through the follow thru, which leads to a host of other problems.

Swing into 2011 with Great Health

After having been on Juice Plus for 1 year, I am thrilled to report that I feel better than ever, haven’t been sick or taken an antibiotic in one year, have more energy than ever, better, healthier skin (which for all us of Florida golfers is a must!), healthier, shinier hair, an overall better appearance and health.  I am so pleased that I am doing something for the health and well being on my family!   We are all three more aware of what we eat, crave more fruits and vegetables, drink more water, have more energy, feel better…my son turned down a trip to Dunkin Doughnuts today!  He craves less sweets and sugar, a true miracle for any 10 year old!  I can’t say enough about Juice Plus…this product is for real, and will change your life!   Just like it has for me and my family!   I feel a responsibility to share Juice Plus with all my friends, family, students, etc….I want all of you to have the same benefit that I’ve found!  Check it out and call me with any questions, or to place your order.
